Snapbot

Built a set of snapbot CNC machines. The design was open sourced by MTM makerbot, containing a parts list and grbl files for a shopbot or other mid sized CNC to cut the material for the body.

Worked with a Shopbot to cut the body out of colored polyethelene plastic boards. Reverse Engineered DC spindle and assembled the three axis motion and stepper motors. Open loop three axis motion control from grbl files achieved with open sourced Arduino code and stepper motor driver board.

Experience with systems integration, supply chain management, CNC devices, embedded systems assembly.

Below is a test of motion control along the three axes. Watch the platform move in the xy plane and the spindle move in the z plane as I input arrow key commands from a terminal application on my laptop.
